support CANMN! please!!!

we plugged into them as drivers in early december and everyone we've delivered to has been so grateful. their needs have increased exponentially and will continue to.

everyone deserves food.
If you’re outside MN, you’re probably seeing a tenth of what’s happening here under ICE. I’m joining with other book-ish folks this week to donate to Community Aid Network Minnesota (CANMN). They distribute food/diapers to families who need them. Please join us in supporting our neighbors.

“The entire operation is becoming slower and more resource-intensive. There is good reason to believe that more immigrants are with their families tonight because of ICE Watch”
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Hi there, my Slate article about ICE is blowing up and I've been talking into a microphone nonstop all day

I'm going to make a thread of the interviews I've done already, and the ones I'm going to do in the next few days. Feel free to check them out if you would like to!

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.
What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

Can we work on the narrative that protestors not only have the right to bear witness & disrupt the actions of a corrupt government, but they ALSO have the right to bear arms against it.

Why is the right suddenly so quiet on the 2nd amendment I wonder?

Very cool that there are lots of people in the US who have been brainwashed to believe that the appropriate punishment for disobeying an “officer” is being abused, injured, blinded, or murdered. This POV will most certainly lead to a better America.
NYTimes has truly outdone itself with this latest in its "ask white guys in diner" genre. Thank goodness we get a perspective on what's happening in Minneapolis from people in **Nisswa** who probably mean Brainerd when they say they "prefer not to go the city anymore" www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/u...
