*analogizing a society operating under Malthusian limitations to our own is absolutely irresponsible and just shows the poster doesn't understand the world we live in*
There were places in Anitolia 3,100 years ago with advanced civilization - trade, government, literature, industry - that, within a single generation, regressed into isolated subsistence agriculture and stayed that way for 500 years.

Years ago, when Obungler was in office, some slob tried pulling the "I said merry Christmas" when I returned it with happy holidays in queue at the Target and my response was something along the lines of "okay, happy Hanukkah, bitch, are you happy now" and I look forward to firing that off again.
Next he’ll restore daylight and blinking.

With respect to my friends and peers, some of whom will see this message, I don't really get the hand-wringing about explaining "embarrassing" subjects.

I dunno, man, I have a harder time explaining the child torture cults and that's mostly about not getting the death glare as I do.

One thing worth thinking about is the reason no quarter is a war crime in a way that many other nonetheless very bad things are not is that recognition lowers the chance of you starring in an independent film against your will.

tl;dr: Less sophisticated actors wrongly believe complexity is not just a hallmark but a necessity of competency rather than a product of capacity. The more complicated a plan, the more points of failure, and the greater need for knowledge, skills, and abilities amateurs don't know they lack.
i need to know more about this. complexity is a sign of an amateur?
No few experts (myself included!!) marveled at the fact the bomber was surely a sophisticated actor because of the simplicity of his plan and a lack of excessive complexity characteristic of less sophisticated individuals.

Remember folks, during winter every ten degree temperature drop lowers your tire’s PSI by 1 so it’s very important to go to the gas station and notice that the air thing doesn’t work and then do that five more times at five different gas stations
