Brown U kids who survived USA 389th mass shooting of 2025 will now pay out of pocket for their healthcare, because USA guarantees guns but not health.

Australians who survived the 1st mass shooting in 29 years will pay nothing for healthcare because Australia guarantees health & regulates guns.

An amazing reminder of the hope we felt in the 90s.
If you haven't watched this speech from The American President before.. you should.

I had it pinned for four years on my Twitter account during Trump's first administration, and it's for good reason.

I don't have any news to counteract the terrible news of the last few days, so here is a thread of cute animals eating things, with most with crunchy cromchy sounds.

I don’t post on twitter any more, but I access it periodically for reference. @noelcaslercomedy.bsky.social has always been up front about The Apprentice “star” so I revisited one of his posts from a couple of years ago. I’ll remove this if he objects, but for now, here it is. Prophetic, isn’t it?!

The newly released Epstein files can be found here.
You have the opportunity to read these documents yourself and understand why the Trump administration fought so hard to keep them from you.

SNAP has existed for 60 years. Benefits have gone out every single month over those six decades, including during government shutdowns. Until now.

Make no mistake: The money is available to fund SNAP during this shutdown. Trump is making a choice to withhold it.

Don’t forget this.

here is my story about how Zohran's focus on community amid the loneliness epidemic helped young people connect their politics to an organizing infrastructure, that interviewed ZM, and does not use the NYT's framing of "they don't know how to make friends" :-) and also ran 4 days before NYT's lol
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

Mamdani asked, listened, and HEARD the people. Fantastic 🤩
A few days after the presidential election one year ago, we went to Fordham Road in the Bronx.

It was a little different last week.

Teen Vogue has been holding the line against the destruction of journalism for years now, so this is truly devastating news. Young women are politically engaged and deserve more than this.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Teen Vogue was so welcoming to teen We Testify storytellers as they broke new ground. It’s disgusting to see how Condé Nast is destroying some of the best journalism. Young people deserve news and info that educates and uplifts them. Thank you Teen Vogue writers for the way you changed the world.

We’re going to have to get used to this. 2026 and 2028 are likely to look very similar.

No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, attempts to prevent US citizens from voting should be a red line for you.

We can’t allow terroristic threats to keep us from the polls.
Breaking from NJ AG Platkin:

"Early this morning, law enforcement responded to threats that were received by email involving certain polling places in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic Counties. Law enforcement … have worked swiftly to secure these polling locations."

If you’re able to donate to food banks, don’t forget to ask your local shelter if they have a pet food bank. Shelters are always overwhelmed when things are good, but when money gets tight pets are one of the first things people get rid of. I know it’s a relief for people to have help for their pets

Interesting! Anti-left just hating for hate’s sake?
Irving Kristol used to say there were two types of conservatives: anti-state, and anti-left

Most of the anti-state ones became NeverTrumpers and bailed in Trump's first term

All that remains of the GOP are the anti-left, people w/ zero convictions beyond supporting whatever the left opposes
The latest AP-NORC poll had Trump at 37% approval, but, sure, lean into Trump-is-King. Good idea.

MAGA really doesn't know how to think about anything except to take the opposite position of their enemies, real or perceived.
