This was 1997 all over again for Cleveland fans rooting for the Jays.
I actually now believe that the Pirates will play in a World Series in my lifetime. It will be right before a long-running, terminal illness takes me, and they will lose in a way that is somehow worse than what the Blue Jays just did

I know they want to give young bats more swings but this was still nothing but a salary dump to save 2.13 mil.
The Cleveland Guardians have placed 1B/DH Carlos Santana on outright waivers. Any team that claims Santana would assume the remaining $2.13M of his contract. If Santana goes unclaimed, the Guardians do not need to assign him to the minor leagues or remove him from the 40-man.
