Everyone talking like Mongoose is doing wrong here. But if the community supported their existing Traveller line with better sales obviously they'd rather publish for 1 system instead of 2. (Of course Bsky considers indie folk "the community" and the (many more) fans of trad or both as rpg MAGA.)

This is my favourite game. Every part of it sucks, but each part sucks in a way that GESTURES TOWARD something that would be awesome were it not undermined by every other part. Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

I've noted it a lot, I will doubtlessly note it again, how weird it is that the TRPG hobby specifically devotes so much discourse to trying to distance itself from the actual "game" part of the acronym
Game mechanics aren't that special.
There is nothing inherently better about rolling 2d6 vs a d12, rolling over or under a stat for a skill check, or using tokens.
The special part is when you, the designer, noticing how a particular mechanic lets you share a part of the human experience
