I always thought Elon Musk was the most dangerous man in America but I viewed him as a danger primarily in terms of his wealth and his disinformation power. I didn't realize he would pose an actual threat to our form of government, our national security, and our most sensitive personal data.
Sheesh.

Every day that large media outlets fail to put words like “illegal” and “unconstitutional” into their headlines is a day they are choosing to normalize a national crisis
Top headlines:
Guardian: Trump’s disregard for US constitution ‘a blitzkrieg on the law’,
NYT: Trump’s Tariffs Would Reverse Decades of Integration With Mexico
Washington Post: Trump’s fierce attacks on DEI reflect a longtime GOP focus

US media is not giving a sense of the scale of the threats

Just resharing this to point out that business genius Sheldon Adelson got hoodwinked by Mark Davis on the Raiders deal in the funniest sports business caper ever
Also: no one should respect Miriam Adelson

The world would be better, and safer, if she croaked on the shitter this evening

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Please just fight. And make sure everyone knows you are fighting. Even if it's a hopeless battle. People love that shit. People are inspired by that shit. That is one of the singular myths that we have at the foundation of our entire culture. Going into battle despite great odds.

Perhaps more concerning is Mike Flynn, known foreign asset, having access to this data?

I don't get the sense that U.S. journalists have a good sense of who to talk to when basic government functions are being ripped out. Gutting the administrative state is not a standard beat. A short thread with some starter suggestions for who to read/talk to. Please - people add more in replies!

For example Trump saying some CBAs don't count because he doesn't like them... is clearly not legal. Clearly! So if the law still exists this will get shot down, and if it doesn't, well.
