Actually I miss the old Eastern European experience of the cashier being annoyed that I’m taking a few too many minutes to make up my mind. I mean they’ve served the same selection of pierogies for a decade.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
