So enraging that the emails from the school district are "here's how you can get food" and "here's how we're protecting students from ICE."

What barbarity, a breach into which underpaid teachers and administrators are stepping in as best they can.

You can’t reboot the planet if you crash it
What Gates is putting forward aren’t legitimate arguments that can be made in good faith. They are shopworn fossil fuel industry talking points.

Maybe I’m speaking out of line here (that’s heavy sarcasm by the way) but individuals with Autism aren’t pawns to be used in political games and shouldn’t continue to be further stigmatized for an agenda.

Which is exactly what is happening here.

There is a certain amount of stomach knottiness we all carry on a day to day due to the emotional toll of the absurdity and contradictions of modern society. Somehow no matter how many lies, the truth emotionally finds us.

The knottiness is more noticeable nowadays.

I do not want to live in a country in which people get shot for their politics—even the people I most disagree with.

That’s bad for everyone. I don’t want to live in a country in which anyone is afraid to express their opinions and feel like violence is the only option.

I think political violence is bad. Democracy is so important because it allows us to settle political differences without killing each other.

The people who are currently ending American democracy should probably think about that more seriously.

Today’s unsigned, unexplained #SCOTUS ruling clearing the way for removals of migrants to third countries without any additional process is a disaster—not just on the merits, but because of the government misbehavior that it not only refuses to punish, but effectively rewards.

Me, via “One First”:
161. The Court's Disastrous Ruling in the Third-Country Removal Case
The majority did not just greenlight an especially odious immigration policy without any explanation; it did so in a case in which the government defied the district court—twice—with no consequence.

The Padilla detainment is awful but don’t miss that Noem promised to “liberate” California from the elected officials they chose.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

Buried in the House’s budget reconciliation bill — now pending in the Senate — is a legislative provision that takes aim at the federal judiciary. Congress should remove it.
House Budget Bill Would Gut Federal Courts’ Ability to Enforce Orders
The legislation would make it harder for judges to hold defiant parties, including government officials, in contempt.

One of the biggest issues from how authoritarian regimes are messaged by the US media as failures of socialism is that they don't convey how things like barren store shelves are usually a result of incompetent economic mismanagement rather then overall economic system. Venezuela comes to mind.
