Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

Figure skating world championships were considered to be for men only until 1902, when Madge Syers showed up and took home silver and the ISU went "whooooops guess we need to segregate them."

It happened again in 1992 Olympic skeet shooting: Zhang Shan took gold and then they segregated the event.

I genuinely believe that if Belfast Pride won't ban the executive parties, then queer orgs should pull out from participating in it.
Missed this last week, Mid & East Antrim Pride have also banned political parties who agreed to ban puberty blockers for trans kids.

So, that's MEA, Foyle, and Causeway Prides.

Come on Belfast Pride...what are you waiting for?
An update regarding #MEAPride 2025.

Do you think most of us wanted to be at odds with the largest progressive party here? God no, we've all grown up watching in-fighting and having it shape our sense of what we don't want from politics here, but this is one of those ethical lines in the sand we can't walk away from.

@hleehurley.substack.com and I had a lengthy meeting with @naomilong.bsky.social and she told us she had already held many other meetings on the subject, at the end of the meeting I asked her if she would, with hindsight, make the same decision about the ban, her response was "I don't know" 🤯🤯

Reposting this in light of today's appalling ban on puberty blockers by Wes Streeting after the farcical sham of a consultation process. If treatment for one group is denied to another that has nothing to do with patient safety, but everything to do with politics.

Labour’s manifesto promised to “remove indignities for trans people”, yet the government’s ban on puberty blockers adopts the Tories’ politicised unevidenced approach.

Young people — cis & trans — must have access to healthcare they need. I stand firmly with the trans community.
