"Women are PIs on 58% of the canceled grants, although they are PIs on only 34% of all active NSF grants.

Similarly, Blacks are PIs on 17% of the terminated grants, although they make only 4% of the total pool. Hispanic PIs and those with disabilities were twice as likely to lose a grant."

Thanks to @conscienhealth.bsky.social for covering our recent study on #Medicare coverage of #obesity medications. Truly, the US health care system is a sick care system, and a host of policy changes are needed to support preventive care for obesity as well as medications!

Alarming. Three teenagers (14, 15, and 17) from San Diego County in under a month have died from flu A. We're generally most concerned with extremes of age, but of course it can get anyone. Please protect yourselves and your loved ones - this is a bad flu season, and it isn't over yet. 🙏🏽

Measles outbreaks cost A LOT of money. Societal costs of the 2018 Clark Co, WA outbreak cost society-the taxpayer-$3.4 million ($47 479 per case or $814 per contact).
