“Undermining harm reduction and cutting related programs isn’t merely a funding decision; it is an assault on an approach to health care that prioritizes evidence, compassion, and dignity — values that are central to the medical profession.”

Tomorrow, the good people of #Colorado have the opportunity to vote for things that people need: access to healthy school lunches, bonds to improve housing opportunities. Now is the time to affect change and help your neighbors with you #vote.
Your vote matters (esp in non-election years).

The most disturbing thing about this is that more than a tenth of the population of the US is food insecure.

Put another way, approximately 0.048% of the massively peaceful protest were arrested. The headline should be that 99.952% of the 25,000 protesters were NOT arrested. Headlines matter.

Infectious diseases hit red states. Overdoses too. And cancer. And traffic injuries. And congenital diseases. In some of these cases, red states are affected more heavily bc they lack Medicaid expansion and/or protective laws.
Destroying the CDC serves no one. No one.
NEW: @CDCgov hit hard by massive firings that several staff describe to me as a “bloodbath.”
Among those RIFd:
—leadership of the center for immunization and respiratory diseases;
—leadership of global health center
—leadership of the measles outbreak response; 1/4

RIFs of federal employees is not leadership.
Storming US cities with masked henchmen is not leadership.
Indicting people for political reasons is not leadership.
Criminalizing poverty is not leadership.
These demonstrate lack of leadership skills. These are actions of ppl without actual plans.

Both are calling to make the MMR vaccine into 3 separate shots, which makes absolutely no scientific or public health sense.
Acting CDC boss wants to break up MMR vaccine into three shots
Jim O’Neill joins President Donald Trump’s call for three distinct measles, mumps and rubella shots, claiming a separation would ‘reduce the risk of side effects’ and ‘maximize parental choice’
