This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

Looks yummy. I’m pretty much done just baking the yams. My kids and grandkids favorite.
We ate early today and I did good. Have truly mastered small Thanksgiving since the lockdown phase of Covid.
(The butter braised carrots are always a huge hit with the kids. Opted not to do green beans this year because it felt like too much. Yes, I am a canned cranberry sauce person.)

Nov 20 - a judge ruled Trump’s deployment was illegal. The court blocked him from sending troops into the District, with a 21 day pause for appeal.

There is talk going around that DHS is now arresting people who fly *domestically* if they have final orders of removal.
Undocumented youth should consider consulting a lawyer to find out what their record is -- especially those whose parents had prior interactions with immigration.
