There's been talk of Democrats needing to adjust their policies to appeal to more voters. But Democrats don't really have a policy problem; numerous polls have shown that a majority of Americans broadly agree with Democratic policy positions.

I've said it before, and I will say it again.

We need courageous leaders that put working families at the center of all they do.

8 democrats caving to empty promises is an indefensible leadership failure

For the sake of our country, Schumer needs to resign.

Let's say all this passes and we get to January 30, and another shutdown happens. What have Republicans learned about the Democrats' willingness to stick to their guns? It's not just about losing this fight; they've made future fights harder to win, too.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

Strange that @kaine.senate.gov thinks that giving away any chance of continuing the ACA subsidies is, in any way, "standing for everybody." "Everybody" doesn't want to see you lose a vote on healthcare. They want to see you DO SOMETHING that guarantees people can still afford it.
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"

If this is what they call fighting, we need better fighters.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

This fight over Nick Fuentes seems to be between Republicans who still don't want to say the quiet part out loud, and Republicans who are tired of not being able to say the quiet part out loud.

He may not be considering it. But the people who are actually in charge are clearly having some thoughts in that direction.
Q: There are reports that you are considering strikes within Venezuela. Is that true?

TRUMP: No. It's not true.

How about we eliminate the waste that comes from able-bodied members of Congress getting paid to sit on *their* couches instead of being in DC, doing their jobs!
Mike Johnson: "With Medicaid, we eliminated the fraud, waste, and abuse. We got able-bodied young men without dependents off the program. They were never intended to be there. They're sitting around on their couches playing video games. Yes, that's an actual study."

"Devout Christian" Mike Johnson is perfectly happy to starve people so the Republicans can kick millions of people off of their healthcare. Remind me, specifically which Christian values is he demonstrating here?
BASH: Even Hawley says you should move money around to feed people. Why not consider it?

JOHNSON: Because if you deviate from the goal of reopening the entire govt, Schumer & the radicals will continue to play games. If you do just part of this, it will reduce the pressure for them to do all of it

He orders extrajudicial killings. He sent troops into our cities. He terrorizes citizens with ICE raids. He raised taxes without congressional approval. He has ruined American farmers and ranchers. He plans to starve the vulnerable. He demolished our house.

Remove him from office.

The correct term for Trump's particular aesthetic style is “Regional Car Dealership Rococo” according to architecture critic Kate Wagner, author of McMansion Hell.

To date, the federal government has been shut down for a total of 115 days since 1980. Trump was the president for 62 of those days; that's nearly 54% of the total time the government has ever been shut down. That percentage will only grow every day that the current shutdown continues.

He did everything he possibly could to overturn the election & stay in power - threatening his VP, Govs & Secs of States, organizing a mob to storm the Capitol. He knew if he ordered a military coup they would’ve refused & he would’ve been tried for treason. That’s why he left.
