🦊 OMG! OMG! OMG! This little gray fox has the swollen boobies and is for sure looking thick. First she walked about 10 feet away from me. I froze. When she got past, I whistled and snapped her pic. She ate a few fallen berries and waddled off. If she brings Kits to the yard I will absolutely die! 😍

BREAKING: ICE and private prison contractor GEO Group are refusing to allow Mahmoud Khalil to hold his newborn son for the first time, even after his wife flew them over 1,000 miles to visit.

We just asked a federal court to order ICE to grant Mahmoud's request for a contact visit with his family.

Tis a shame that a group like Little Lobbyist has to exist. Thankfully they know how to battle the system. And love that Sen Booker is with them in this fight

Sen. Cory Booker once again met the moment, standing with the incredible Little Lobbyists in D.C.—a group of children with disabilities & their families fighting to protect Medicaid. They’ve long led the charge, & Booker proudly stands with them.

Can confirm. When I worked in the White House, I had to be careful to split the bill with anyone when having lunch.

(Of course that was under a president who sold his peanut farm rather than be suspected of any conflict of interest.)
When I worked in the House of Representatives I wasn’t allowed to let anyone buy me lunch.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

Normally, arms sales go forward without a vote. But any Senator can object and force a full debate and Senate vote. I will do that for any military deal with a nation that is paying off Trump personally. We can't act like this is normal foreign policy.

I think there's a thing where people are conflating "the Times is a fucked up paper" with "good people shouldn't write for the Times" with "everything that gets published in the Times is reactionary propaganda."

But even if you agree with One and Two, Three doesn't actually follow, and isn't true.

When pushed up to the wall, the Trump administration has repeatedly bowed to the courts. Not every time of course. But I think there just aren’t enough attorneys at DOJ or in the WH willing to be charged with contempt

I doubt Stephen Miller can convince anyone to risk jail & their license

A few years ago I tweeted something critical of a political journalist & he DMed me. We went back & forth but it came down to he thought he had me when he said person X had switched his MI registration from Repub to independent.

I pointed out there’s no partisan registration in Michigan.
C’mon, @nytimes.com, do some basic cross-checking. Illinois does not have voter registration by party. The records Charlie Kirk et al. are sharing just reflect the fact that the pope voted in Republican primaries. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/08/u...

Sound on! Overnight, Munti, the Asian small-clawed otter, gave birth to a litter of pups—earlier than expected! Munti is a first-time mom and with that comes some risk. We are currently in a critical three-day window for the pups, but hearing hearty squeaks that sound healthy is a great sign!
