New Pharaoh's tomb just dropped.

The tomb of King Thutmose II has been uncovered, Egyptian officials announced on Tuesday, marking the first discovery of a royal resting place since King Tutankhamun’s was unearthed in 1922.

Looking at Ulaanbaatar I’m a little surprised they haven’t built at least one metro line by now. Given they have 40 bus lines I think the demand is there for one or two.

Thanks Matthew, I forgot to crosspost from Threads here. For an NYU urban-planning project, we surveyed dozens of Manhattan blocks last year. Over 90% had cars parked illegally, often with a dashboard placard or note, almost never valid. 1/
So, this morning @urbanupgradeglobal.bsky.social made a really important point about congestion pricing that has largely been neglected in this debate.

The only reason *anyone* who isn't massively wealthy can afford to drive daily into Lower Manhattan, even *without* congestion pricing, is that...

Polished up my "Split Loop" concept to decongest the Loop: running thru Green and Brown/Orange Line trains all over the Outer Loop, with select peak Brown and and Pink on the Inner Loop to eliminate all conflicts at Tower 12. Also puts Purple in the subway and streamlines NSML. Alt text for details.
