I’m a reformed reply guy. I post about planes, trains, and automobiles (derogatory) now.
Except the funny thing is that message was a complete no sell with Jabba the Hutt.

Like the legal system has to keep pretending that a judge appointed by officeholders of a specific political party will be impartial when cases involving that party reach their docket, even though we all know they won’t be.

Judicial appointments need to be stripped away from the President and handed off to a separate official (I’d just make up one like Chief Magistrate). As it stands the justice system and the executive branch are far too incestuous. Ideally a judge should never owe the president/party for anything.

Do they just not have access to an open staircase?

Sometimes you have to focus on the fundamentals, even when it involves religious morals.

Kind of incredible these thieves can’t see the logical conclusion of the extreme wealth inequality they’re pursuing (all the money for them) is that everyone else reverts to barter and thus reducing the money they hold to worthless paper. Money only holds value if theres a society that uses it.

I wish I lived near more major hotels and conference centers so I could do this.

It was sort of yesterday, but Myanmar and Thailand got rocked by earthquake. The rebellion even announced a partial ceasefire. apnews.com/article/myan...
Myanmar quake death toll rises to 1,644 as resistance movement announces partial ceasefire
The military government suggested the numbers could still rise, saying “detailed figures are still being collected.”

Especially when you compare it to Brest-Litovsk. Germans should have known that turnabout is fair play. You want to impose territorial losses on a defeated enemy? Don’t be so outraged when it happens to you after you get defeated.

At this rate I’m mostly just counting on their sheer incompetence to bring them down like it did the July monarchy in France. Hard to sustain a regime when all the key officials are dumb as bricks.

I wonder sometimes what Sirhan Sirhan must be thinking seeing all this insanity, since it’s hard to see how him killing RFK wasn’t a factor for why RFK JR went insane.

Slowly, the political spectrum is turning into the IQ bell curve with the median voter on the 100

Theres also a parallel of this for equipment/weapons too. Lots of love for the P51 Mustang, but less so for the Douglas C-47 Skytrain that did unbelievable amounts of logistics work.

One of LBJ’s greatest feats was breaking the Senate’s seniority system in his first year as minority leader. Didn’t stick long term but it’s up there with passing a civil rights bill in difficulty. m.youtube.com/watch?v=XW6S...

It’s people like this that convince me that abnormality runs in families. I don’t know if it’s some form of mental illness or something but there’s just some quirk that prevents these guys from living quiet lives.

In retrospect De Gaulle’s instincts were amazing. Was willing to bet on the Allies winning even during the fall of France. Withdrew from Algeria in spite of vehement opposition from the French right. And now his bet on strategic autonomy is paying off.

I’m willing to trust Trumps inexplicable ability to fail when he should succeed (which unfortunately lets him succeed when he should fail). I foresee Putin overplaying his hand and end up getting no peace deal to legitimize his gains before Russia’s economy undergoes a meltdown.

It would be nice if the federal govt took a page from the states and had certain cabinet positions be elected, like Attorney General. Helps reinforce that they and their department are independent of the president and can’t be fired. Less likely to get a Pam Bondi or Matt Gaetz in the position too.

I’m betting on Trumps poor health being the turning point. Losing the figurehead is going to trigger endless infighting on the right over being the “successor” to Trump as the leader of MAGA. It’ll come down on the rest of us to capitalize when this opening comes.

Funny enough the US has effectively exiled someone before; Clement Vallandigham leader of the copperheads during the Civil War. Lincoln basically kicked him over to the confederates. He even tried to run for governor of Ohio in abstentia from Canada. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clement...

Which is an insane thing to do when their other goal is trying to consolidate a new regime. Even Hitler was focused on keeping unemployment low to give his rule credibility. They really are convinced they’ll never be held accountable at the ballot box again.
