The best place to be is where people care about each other. Let’s talk about healthcare, schools, gardens, books, crochet projects, and all things cozy.

We all have a purpose. Mine is to make the other people in this exercise class feel better about themselves.
The person praying for my prayers not to be answered is winning.

Watched Fantastic 4 & loved it. Fun movie with a great cast. The audience even clapped at the end of the movie. First summer in a long time with legit blockbusters.

would be cool if every major news covering the floods and mike johnson's pathetic "all we have is prayer" ended the clip by being like "HE WORKS FOR THE GOVERNMENT, YOU PAY HIS SALARY, WHAT ARE YOUR TAXES DOING IF NOT HELPING PREPARE FOR THESE THINGS, IF NOT HELPING RESCUE WHEN THINGS GO WRONG"

People don't understand end of life care, Medicaid, and how this legislation will make things unimaginably worse. If people are too ill for home care, Medicare only covers a set amount of time. Once that ends, the patient covers it, and on average it exceeds a pension and social security check.

I’ve rarely DNF’d a book. It’s so hard to put together a story, & I respect that author’s effort. There’s also a part of me that was raised thinking it’s rude not to finish. As I get older though & time gets more precious, I’m rethinking DNFs. Life’s too short to read something you don’t love.

The Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.

Gen X has the opportunity to uncouple healthcare from our jobs. Do we really want to work to our 70s so we can afford medications & Dr appts? We could have an affordable public option, a Medicare buy-in. We’ve worked our whole lives. We deserve to enjoy our retirement without health insurance stress
