#OnThisDay, 15 Nov 1982, at least 11 women* from Greenham Common Peace Camp in the UK are sent to prison. They'd refused to be bound over to keep the peace after occupying a sentry box on the US base.

*some sources say 23, others 11.

To coincide with the re-release of City On Fire, Sight & Sound asked me to pick 10 great Hong Kong action films of the 1980s. Here's what I came up with:

10 great Hong Kong action films of the 1980s
From gravity-defying stunts to bullet-sprayed showdowns – as Ringo Lam’s blazing City on Fire returns in a new restoration, we remember the heyday of Hong Kong action movies.

Such a pity that frontline NHS staff aren’t given the space in newspapers to air their thoughts, as Streeting is. The NHS is currently missing around 100,000 staff. It’s no surprise when they’re bashed continually for fighting for fair working conditions🚨

Another great thread about the Old West. I'm just incredibly disappointed that there haven't been cardigans in western movies all these years

We’ve made this investigation free to read because so many people in Sheffield are affected by this story.

Our journalists have been knocking on doors for weeks and we’ve had to employ lawyers because of the legal threats made against us.

We can only do this kind of journalism with your support.
