Van Hollen is, curiously, one of very few electeds acting the way the founders envisioned—using the opportunity of one of the branches overreaching to further his own career. It’s a good thing, but passing strange we don’t see more of it.

Friendly reminder. In the United States, criminals are entitled to due process. Even if you pay hush money rig an election, steal top secret documents, or incite a mob to overthrow the government; no matter how egregious your crimes, you’re entitled to due process.

This is nearly as bad as the Abrego Garcia case—they secretly rescinded this working dad’s visa and then busted him for overstaying it?! and are now trying to ship him out of the country
His student visa was suddenly revoked but he wasn’t notified—“they don’t want ICE to lose the advantage of surprise” (!!!)—and four days later he was arrested at the hospital where he works.
