Happy #caturday! Meet Westley. Today is obviously not his day with the braincell. One would think he was looking at me with such adoration in his eyes but no. There was a fly on the wall behind me.

every aspect of apartment searching is set up to benefit and be convenient for the landlords. they know they don’t have to “sell” me on anything because supply and demand is in their favor so customer service and basic human decency go out the window.

Tell me if I’m wrong, but I don’t feel like you should have to pay for parking at a public library. Remodeled local library just re-opened downtown and the lot is entirely metered. Unsure if it’s the fault of the city or the library but either way it’s another unnecessary barrier to accessibility 💙📚

I’m not anti-science but let’s be honest: it’s kind of bullshit that planes work. Seems like a scam.

I think it's important to remember, with everything extremely fucked up and dumb right now, that at the root of it, fuck fuck fucking fucking fuck.

Has anyone else read Death With Interruptions by José Saramago? I need someone smarter than me to explain it. Or just someone to complain to about it because I swear I just read two separate books. 📚💬

midterms are done, I have emerged from the trenches, and I can finally start working my way through my tbr again without feeling guilty (for the next week and a half at least). “god, I’ve missed you,” I say to the lonely, teetering pile of library books on my coffee table.

When the sleepy cat wakes up for a moment just to grab his head with his paws and squeeze it like a little melon?? HELLO????

tfw you decide to re-read a book you’ve owned forever and forgot about only to suddenly remember the author getting cancelled a couple years ago (for good reason) and now you’re just icked out and have to find something else to read even though that was the one book you were in the mood for 🫠

“we listen and we don’t judge”

I have borrowed books from people and so much time has passed that I now have no intention of ever returning them. some of them we both genuinely forgot about but for some others it’s entirely out of spite and I’m not sorry about it anymore.

“we listen and we don’t judge”

i have pulled over to cry listening to many an audiobook

please quote with your “we listen and we don’t judge”

if one more granola mom tells me that modern medicine is evil I am going to scream. you cannot fix everything with a fancy herbal tea, karen. and if I have to “believe in the cure” in order for it to work, it’s a placebo effect.

i can’t decide whether to scream or sob right now
Just hours after taking the oath of office, Donald Trump took down reproductiverights.gov — a website to help women find health care and understand their rights.

They’re wasting no time assaulting freedom.

in better news, I finally saw sonic 3 and turns out it’s still possible to make a genuinely good movie. someone please tell Disney that not all sequels have to be shit and such obvious cash grabs.

I used to love reading dystopian fiction in high school.

Reaaaaally not enjoying living through dystopian reality as an adult.

I know this isn't going to make processing the better sourced article on Neil Gaiman any easier, but folks.

Death of the Author is a framing device for analyzing works and doing critique.

It is NOT pretending the author doesn't exist, especially when that's not how art works.
