If anyone in the WNY region is looking to adopt a cat, I just took in this tiny girl from the storm and would love to find her a home. I just don't have the space for her myself or else I'd just keep her.

I wore a purple polo and tan slacks to work today and the first thing my director said to me was "Did you get a second job at Planet Fitness or something?"

Cutbacks have gutted the staff at NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, who work to protect the public from toxic algal blooms.

Severe spending limits have made it difficult to purchase ordinary equipment for processing samples, such as filters and containers.

Never did I think I'd live to see a worse president than Bush and we've gotten that fucker twice
Bush was a terrible president. But he could successfully complete a college application. He’d be an at-least replacement level regional business manager. I’d let him babysit my kids for an evening, in a pinch. If I insured his car I’d be at least mostly confident he wouldn’t try to defraud me.
I can't get over how we've somehow managed to memory-hole the entire fucking 8-year Bush presidency.

I used to live right around the corner from this Lebanese bodega and nine years later I still think about how awesome it was just Have A Place Right There
I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store

NEW: The Trump administration’s lack of transparency about tariff exemptions has experts concerned that some firms might be winning narrow carve-outs behind closed doors.

“It could be corruption, but it could just as easily be incompetence,” one lobbyist said.

My cat has discovered that she enjoys sitting directly in front of our heating vents and listening to the echo of her own meows. This has the added effect of making every other room in my house sound likes it's haunted by a feline ghost.

Good, though the headline should read that Donald Trump doesn't have the authority to bar trans athletes in Maine.

Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Fascists want us divided, uninformed and sick. A sick, apathetic population won’t put up much of a fight.

Protect your health. Read local independent journalists. Support libraries, community fridges & food banks. Give to mutual aid. Wear a mask.

There was a startup back in the early 2010s I think that was trying to make a modular cell phone where you could snap in different components depending on your needs(bigger battery, different lens, gaming chipset etc) and the world would be better if they succeeded.
We're cleaning out a storage space that hasn't been touched in years and discovered a relic

That's right, kids: you used to be able to repair mobile phones yourself!
