My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow, but it's just honestly incredible that people are still debating what can work in NYC vs. other places when, above everything else, Mamdani's "strategy" has simply been going and talking to people like a human being, without judgement or condescension.

We don't have leadership capable of painting a picture of what this will look like. 25 cents of every dollar that goes out as a SNAP benefit goes directly to farmers & grocers make millions every month. When that money is cut off they will raise food prices to compensate. This will spiral quickly.

I just don’t think we’re freaking out enough about this SNAP cut. I have spent my whole career working with people who rely on SNAP for food. People who work multiple jobs. Who have kids. What do you think happens when 1/8th of the population can’t buy food anymore? Everything is going to collapse.

I think he’s going to sweep in and reinstate SNAP the week before Thanksgiving to act like some benevolent savior of Thanksgiving. We know better. He’s not benevolent toward anything but himself

I’d love to see @startribune.com review this - ideally in advance of the election. Voters deserve to know that our “strong mayor” is quite weak when it comes to actually making changes.
