Normalising mass killing should not be rewarded, and banning Israel from Eurovision is the least we can do. LDFP are dismayed at Ed ignoring the genocide of 70,000 Palestinians (347 since a so-called “ceasefire” was called.) Ed’s statement does not represent the views of our members and supporters.
"There is a ceasefire in Gaza and therefore this action is the wrong thing"

Lib Dem leader Ed Davey hiding behind the pretend 'ceasefire' (which is the point of it) & saying its wrong for countries to boycott Eurovision. Pathetic. Supporting BDS is the very least anyone can do

Sounds delusional, but could be intended as diplomatic - ie an attempt to at least slow down/limit growing US enmity to EU/alignment with Putin, buying some time for EU to develop own capacity

It's only possible to argue that Merkel's "We can do this" moment directly led to today's rise of the anti-liberal far right if you ignore the fact that all the movements he cites suffered a precipitous drop in popularity in the 2017-2022 period.

Of course Bret Stephens does just that.

As famine deepens and hostages remain in captivity, the Israeli Government expands settlements and escalates its assault on Gaza.

I’ve written to the Foreign Secretary urging sanctions, an arms ban and a ban on trade with illegal settlements.

Please help push the UK government to take meaningful action and stop Israel from blocking Palestinian self-determination.

By trying to bully nations out of recognising Palestine, Trump is making himself the biggest hurdle to a two-state solution and a lasting peace.

The UK must stand strong with Canada and our allies, we should recognise the Palestinian state right now. No more delays.

Quite right. @libdems.org.uk
It's utterly unconscionable for the Israeli Defence Force simply to blame a "technical error" for killing Gazan children waiting for water. The UK Government must insist on accountability within the Israeli military and Government and an end to a culture of impunity.

The world's attention is on the new conflict between Israel and Iran and Tuesday's UN conference has been postponed.

Yet the UK should still recognise Palestine to safeguard conditions for a two-state solution. All 72 Lib Dem MPs co-signed a call for this.

This is entirely right. So many feel like suckers because they’re the ones following the rules and they see both that others ignore them and that those supposed to enforce the rules don’t - and it’s especially true of visible crime like fare dodging, shop lifting, vandalism.
it's an major issue in this country that petty crime is routinely ignored - not because of the consequences of those crimes, but because of how angry it makes people to witness it. Almost any poll or focus group will show you this is a huge issue.
