Wie stark sich die Sozialstruktur der Schweizer Gesellschaft in den letzten Jahrzehnten verändert hat, ist wirklich beeindruckend: In der Stadt Zürich hat sich beispielsweise der Anteil der Menschen mit Universitätsabschluss seit 1990 mehr als verdreifacht (von 19 auf 63%).

This is interesting: the idea of the "post-industrial" or "deindustrialised" region is really pervasive, when in fact there's a lot of historical specificity that's missed out. The trajectory and technology of mining, diversification of industry, local/national tensions eg motor industry...

Bei den Kommunalwahlen in NRW gab es viel Aufmerksamkeit für die AfD-Ergebnisse im Ruhrgebiet. In unserem neuen Working Paper zeigen wir, wie diese mit dem Verlauf der historischen Industrialisierung der Region zusammenhängen.

Großer Sieg für die Klimabewegung beim Hamburger Zukunftsentscheid: Große Zustimmung findet das „Gesetz für besseren Klimaschutz“ vor allem in zentrumsnahen Gegenden und Stadtteilen mit einer jüngeren Bevölkerung. Deutlich niedriger ist die Zustimmung in Gegenden mit höherem Eigentümeranteil. (1/2)
