hey, cis folks!

a small thing you can do to stand with trans people.

the government wants to/is forcing us to carry incorrect documents that put us in danger. 3 proposed rules:

• DS-11 first time passports
• DS-82 passport renewals
• DS-5504 name changes/ corrections

you can submit anonymously!
Last thing! We have also created a simple video, less than two minutes, to walk you through this process. Watch it now and share with a friend. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6YO...

It's not "saving," and especially not "waste." Media is doing such a disservice by falling for that canard.

Saving by eliminating waste means same (or better) benefits for less money. These are illegal payment stops with downsides. Like "saving" money by not getting your kids' necessary medication.

I subscribed to @wired.com and @rollingstone.com today because of their reporting on what's happening, that everyone needs to know about 👍
Is it just me or has WIRED been dogwalking the rest of the media on this story
NEW: An internal email obtained by WIRED from a threat intelligence team monitoring US Treasury systems advised labeling DOGE operatives an "insider threat," adding that it recommended suspending their access "immediately."

Once again, pretty much every accusation is a confession from them.
Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Fox News, Republican lawmakers, and countless prominent right-wing commentators across social media are pushing a ridiculous lie about the Biden administration funding the media.

I highly recommend the 5 Calls app!

Please use it to call your Congress persons to let them know you’re furious about Elon and DOGE. I actually got through Congressman Mullin and spoke to a person on his staff.

It’s an easy app to use. Prompts and text are all there, if you want.

So Trump's shutting down of the entire government's funding system for American projects is literally so he can go line by line and target transgender people and other minorities.

When we said transphobia affects cis people too, well... here you go.

I know this feels unique to Trump, but what Slotkin and Peters are doing is the same blunder those who think there's some "center" to appeal to always make.

As @george-lakoff.com explained in 2008 in The Political Mind.

About 44% of Trump’s election was funded by just 10 megadonors, almost exactly 15 years after the U.S. Supreme Court issued its landmark 'Citizens United' ruling, which opened the floodgates for corporations and billionaires to pour unlimited money into elections.

One clear lesson I learned from the 2024 election: Social Media is an echo chamber.

Reacting to and explaining how fucked up Trump's executive orders are will generate a lot of likes and reposts but will not change hearts and minds.

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

The simple comparison is with Google: Any phone can be an Android, but Google still makes the Pixel as the default device.

It means they can guarantee a good baseline experience but people who want more specific things can get another device that's still in the ecosystem.
Serious question, why do this if they plan on launching their own handheld? Wouldn’t it just cannabalize their own product?
I get the “play anywhere” motto but it just seems counterproductive

Storytime.

In 2005, my mom died from cancer, but the real cause was the actions taken by an insurance company 12 years earlier. What happened to her was evil, hard to identify or fight, and hidden from the public by legal mechanisms. Because of that, I have no idea how often it has happened.
