My dyslexic mom was failed by US education, so she had me reading chapter books by 5. I’m so grateful. I struggled socially, so reading was my solace in childhood. I wrote a book (fanfic) at 12. I became a student journalist, which expanded my skills, and the rest is history. #Bookvember #WriteSky

I've been absent from #WritingLifeMonthly because... life. But writing emotional funeral scenes is definitely the most challenging for me (and I've written a few of them). I eventually have to write through blurred, teary vision (and can't see my monitor). They're hard to edit too. #WriteSky
