It’s super convenient for Americans to condemn people like Epstein rather than deal with the everyday adults in our neighborhoods who are doing the same type of things…

1 in 4 US girls will survive CSA.

90% of perpetrators are family members or trusted care providers.

Can people please stop fetishizing CSA perpetrated by billionaires?

Doing so hurts survivors.

So often survivors are told that forgiving perpetrators is a mandatory step to healing. Forcing people to give grace is an extension of the abuse and a wound to the survivor’s sovereignty…
What people from dominant groups describe as empathy is often a rationale used to disregard harm by abusers, prevent or circumvent natural and logical consequences.

Further it's been weaponized against those (groups) who have been wounded by requiring forgiveness or denial of their injury.

racism and rape culture are so intertwined in this US and they're frequently treated as separate issues

I don’t think you can root out the corruption, racism, sexism and graft produced by settler colonial occupation. Those are the purposes of the occupation that’s dominated since 1492. The occupation needs to end…
As Jamelle Boiue has been saying, this country needs a thorough reformation to root out the corruption racism sexism and graft. We can’t continue like this.

When it’s revealed that “ordinary people” abuse kids, seldom do they receive consequences. But somehow, if we keep repeating Epstein’s name, Trump will receive consequences? Make it make sense.

Hopefully people are remembering that sexual assault victims can read what they’re saying

It would be amazing if the people demanding the release of the Epstein files dedicated that same energy to preventing and combatting CSA.

it's the ultimate flex of power and privilege. they largely escaped consequences for abuse, so why be careful about what's in writing?
I don't even email people commitments on deadline dates because I'm scared it'll be held against me one day and these people out here doing detailed documentation of a pedo club

I am exhausted of hearing about Jeffrey Epstein and seeing a bunch of men and women use the memory of a dead pedophile for political expediency.

I wanted to hear it all from the mouth of his most outspoken victim, and, frankly, one of the bravest women who ever lived.

Please read this book.

Othered bodies are just a stage for their masculinity.
The primary reason men perpetrate sexual violence is to bond with each other.

That’s why there are so many text messages and emails. For most rapists, the satisfaction doesn’t come from the violence. It comes from the power they get after bragging about it.

BS. I taught in CA for over a decade and in EVERY school where I worked, ppl of all genders perpetrated against pre-teens and teens. When they got caught, they moved to new school sites. The U.S. public school system parallels the Catholic Church and the district where I worked is proudly “blue.”
@sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com's work on pedocon theory confirmed once more. Republicans molest children because they think children are the property of men: their Weltanschauung dictates their practice of molesting children www.liberalcurrents.com/we-need-to-t...
We Need to Talk About Pedocon Theory
The connection between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein is no accident, but reveals a deep logic at the heart of reactionary politics.

I live in LA County and was discussing this with someone recently. They asked what happens to unhoused people who are “swept away.” My answer was that they die. Unhoused people are ki!!ed by government “clean up” projects. On average, 7 unhoused people die every day here…

This thing y’all do where you flatten every issue down to capitalism (forgetting that racism, sexism, imperialism, etc. all 3 heads of the same snake) is extremely annoying because any discussion about the real life harms caused by each is dismissed

For every thousand sexual assaults in the United States, there are eleven (11) convictions. And about three of those are incorrect and based on racial profiling.

So please miss me with the "we need the carceral state because of all the rapists" line. It's a myth.

Democrats play good cop and
Republicans play bad cop and that’s why I side with abolitionists.

Closed primaries and similar nomination processes are another way that the duopoly coercively maintains its chokehold on us.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Man really do wake up in the morning and then leave the house to go harass women. Knowing that some of us are out here angry, powerlifting, maybe even packing. Wow.
