Husband, father, Cyclone, lawyer, golfer, Iowan, never Trump, defender of democracy and the rule of law, foodie, Americana & red dirt junkie.
When’s the publication date of the sequel, @jaketapper.bsky.social?
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

A Reagan judge. This administration’s corruption and lawlessness is not a partisan issue. It’s a democracy and rule of law issue.

Please give me a Chris Murphy/Jamie Raskin ‘28 ticket. Serious ass people who care about democracy and America. I’d throw Cory Booker and AOC into that mix but for the fact that most of the Trump ‘24 voters are racist as hell and would never vote for a person of color.

If Trump's idiocy reverses the global rightward trend in national elections, it will be the greatest thing he has ever done. By far.
It's really hard to overstate how hugely favored conservatives were up until two months ago.

Here's the graph of Canadian polling between March 2023 and March 2025. (Reminder: blue is conservative.)

Those are months and months of 20+ point leads for Tories.

INCREDIBLE opinion by Wilkinson refusing to stay Judge Xinis's orders in the Abrego Garcia case, condemning DOJ's arguments as "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear."

I’m watching Top Secret with Val Kilmer for the first time. It came out in 1984. I’m dying. Slap stick comedy is the best.

Can we now deport Elon without due process as a national security threat like we did the brown people with funny tattoos?

Cory Booker is a boss. The symbolism of him breaking a record held by a racist who opposed civil rights at a time when Americans’ civil rights are again under assault is breathtaking.

These dipshits are going to get disbarred just like Rudy and Eastman.
NEW: ProPublica has identified three lawyers with elite establishment credentials who’ve joined the DOGE effort. Two of their names haven’t been previously reported as working for the Elon Musk-led initiative.

Here’s what we know about them:
The Elite Lawyers Working for Elon Musk’s DOGE Include Former Supreme Court Clerks
Much attention has been paid to the young Silicon Valley engineers working for Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, but the group has also hired high-powered legal talent.

To be fair, the GOP has been doing this for 50 years.
Trump managed to trick stupid people into thinking they would strike a blow against “elites” by handing the government over to billionaires.

At the time, everyone, including Republicans, understood how bad it was. Then, brick by brick, they built a foundation of lies to justify doing what they know, deep down, to be wrong. Trump betrayed the country. And so do they.

What changed? And why? Trump was just as much of a threat to democracy in 2024. Shameful voter behavior.
Nine. Teen. MILLION. Biden 2020 voters stayed home in 2024.
First, here’s what we know about how and why Harris lost ground.

Based on VoteCast data, we can estimate ~19 million people who voted for Biden four years ago stayed home.

(40% of those voting in 2024 had voted for Biden in 2020, and 40% had voted for Trump. From there, it’s simple arithmetic.)
