Bob Kettle is going to get on board with fixing the late 8 right.

Great news: Sales at Pike Place Market were up 7.5% in August too! That's three months of solid data showing the pedestrianization pilot is good for business.

Add your ideas for how to keep the momentum going into the fall: actionnetwork.org/letters/pike...

The left should be shouting from the rooftops for more development - rentals, for sale, mixed-use, etc. This is such an easy source of revenue for cities and we’re completely missing the mark in Seattle.
One of the biggest declines in local tax revenues has been from the sales tax, mostly due to a dramatic decline in construction permits. This includes permits for new housing—less new housing (built by those ever-demonized developers) leads directly to funding shortfalls for the city.

I’m not going to pretend I know how to do political communications and speak to the median voter, but speaking only for myself, it’s incredibly dispiriting how few people in Democratic congressional leadership have shown any indication they understand the severity of this moment, as AOC does here.
AOC spot on , this is what leadership looks like.

Amazon bribed Trump and now is trying to a Seattle election, keep their taxes low, and stop new money for affordable housing.

Give them hell, Seattle!

Vote proposition 1A.

Maybe now we can restart the discussion of how cars and the market interact, before the Seattle process comes back in full force. Make it safe for those walking rolling and biking.
The tragedy in New Orleans highlights the urgent need to rethink Pike Place Market.

It’s time to reimagine the Market as a safer, pedestrian-friendly space w/more room for dining, arts, & culture while keeping essential access.

Safety concerns revive debate over vehicle access at Seattle's Pike Place Market
Should the street in front of Pike Place Market be closed to cars? It's a question that locals and tourists have been asking for some time.
