After Netanyahu called Sunday’s massacre of Palestinians in Al-Mawasi a “tragic mistake”, The World’s Most Moral Army continues to carry out massacres in the Al-Mawasi “safe area”.

Sunday should have marked the end of any country supporting Israel. But we've seen no major change in behavior from the West, nothing at all from the U.S. most importantly. So the massacre is allowed to continue.

Absolutely unhinged that we're still "debating" whether the evidence base for gender-affirming care is robust enough when half the states have fucking banned it by law. We're VERY OBVIOUSLY in the middle of a massive moral panic.

What's kind of amazing is that we're actually living through a huge technology revolution where our entire power grid is being replaced by solar panels and battery storage and you hear less about it in the press than you did about the totally fake "tech" of NFTs

I keep pointing this factoid out but: the majority of solar capacity in the US has been installed since 2020. More capacity was installed just in 2023 than in every year before 2015 combined bsky.app/profile/enbu...
It's hard to get people to understand how radically it's changing year over year--many still think like 10 years ago where solar (i.e. most commonly panels / photovoltaics) is expensive & inefficient & rare and you can't store the power. ALL of that has changed radically & continues to do so.

the issue is that what the conservative majority wants is a return to a world where rule by minority is the rule in most states. i expect that this court will eventually take aim at baker v. carr.

this is what is crazy-making about the conservative majority. the 15th amendment, in particular, is clear. there is no ambiguity. congress has the explicit power to prevent racial discrimination in voting. by definition, this would include the power to prevent racial discrimination in redistricting.
Important to remember that it's not that these 6 justices have a different method, it's that they're full of it. The 14th and 15th amendments were passed to ban racial discrimination, and they explicitly authorize the Voting Rights Act. All were intended to block racial discrimination in the South.

In the United States, if your child is killed by the police you have to settle for less than five cents on the dollar you should have gotten and the settlement has to include giving the police money for training.
