Community meetings that set land use policies are no good and also bad. If cities are going to be blue refuges, they gotta build homes, parks, bike lanes, community centers…all the things certain people reliably go to meetings to scream about.

Community meetings that set land use policies are no good and also bad. If cities are going to be blue refuges, they gotta build homes, parks, bike lanes, community centers…all the things certain people reliably go to meetings to scream about.
Compare Seattle's anemic proposed Comprhensive Plan update with what is happening in Vancouver in the earliest phases of their revisions to planning regs.
