The technical term for Trump’s cold-blooded, extrajudicial, extralegal military killing of boaters in international waters is "murder." As in "Donald Trump is a cold-blooded killer, and should be arrested, tried, and if found guilty, be punished with the full penalty of the law."

From this morning's NPR story. Sounds a lot like what a senior DEA official told me: "Trump likes explosions, death and mayhem because he thinks it will excite his MAGA audience. He doesn't care whether it works. He spends tens of millions to do things that could be accomplished on a $20k budget."

To process those applications again is going to cost so much time and money. They are spending money to starve people. And given the level of corruption, I have no doubt that applications with names indicating certain backgrounds will be conveniently "misplaced" for weeks if not months or years.

A 20 year old woman in Minnesota was murdered at work by a coworker this week. Why? He didn't like the way she looked at him. And people are judging her gender presentation in an effort to justify her murder. America hates women. And children. It hates Black, Indigenous, Latine and Asian people too

The reason why most women my age couldn't care less if Bill Clinton goes down with the ship is that we were teens & young women when the Anita Hill and Monica Lewinsky scandals happened. It's rotten to the core. All the way down. Your "lost" era is not ours.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

People want to believe that the GOP’s electoral success in red states is the result of dirty tricks and gerrymandering instead of the sincerely held beliefs of a majority of the population because a mechanical issue is easier to fix than wrestling with how to make people not believe what they do.

I'm seeing people wonder why ICE is going after Charlotte.

ICE has been at war with Charlotte's sheriff ever since he won in 2018.

We'd covered this at Bolts back in the day; this quote is from that sheriff:
“When the 8 African American sheriffs took over the largest counties in North Carolina, it became a threat to the good ol’ boy system,” says the sheriff of Charlotte. These new sheriffs broke ties with ICE.

But GOP lawmakers cracked down this week, overbidding the governor’s veto to adopt this law:
North Carolina GOP Is Cracking Down on the Black Sheriffs Who Stood Up to ICE
Boosted by new supermajorities, Republicans are closing in on legislation to mandate more collaboration with ICE and preempt local policies hard-won by immigrants’ rights advocates.

Algorithms drive people further and further to the extremes. People who exploit these algorithms make a lot of money from doing so.

Building on previous work, Palmer and Gorman argue that until we accept misinformation as a social determinant of health, we won’t be able to address it effectively.

One ~182km x ~211km solar thermal plant could provide all of America’s electricity, including a fully-electrified land transport sector.

100% clean power from just 0.39% of U.S land.

That’s why renewables are constantly under attack from the fossil fuel industry and their paid mouthpieces.

America's network of democratic alliances was a jewel. Never before had a great power relied on cultivating voluntary relationships, leading to the richest, most powerful country in history, and benefitting the world relative to the alternative.

Then America decided to throw it away. And for what?
