I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

Broadly, I don't actually wish ill on my enemies. I wish them love and joy and healing. I do not personally seek revenge. Even for the people who have really, really hurt me. I just want the harm to stop. I want the people I love to be safe.

For those of you (understandably) scared of how Parliamentary debate on trans healthcare might go, here’s how the recent self ID debate went.

I’ve good reason to think we can make this happen again.

Let’s get this over the line 🤗: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

This is only going to save the government around £6 for every person in the UK. It could kill 365,000 people. Completely indefensible and morally bankrupt

Finally the Labour Party does something to tackle child poverty. This is good, but universal free school meals are the way to go. Wales already does this for primary school kids. England should follow us

Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.

This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

1/🧵 Many new archive finds. The UK considered in 2002 to use a remedial order under the Human Rights Act to bring the law into compliance with Goodwin & “I”.

The government opted for primary legislation because of the “complex knock-on effect”.

The EHRC shocked a UN discrimination expert by stating what the intent behind using "biological sex" is back in 2023

Of course they didn't define it - just as the Supreme Court didn't - because it is meaningless other than as a "get out of jail free" card for discriminating against trans people

It's quite simple.

You cannot say you oppose Israel's plan for the mass ethnic cleansing of Gaza if you keep providing them with the weapons they need to carry it out.

The government’s refusal to end all arms sales to Israel is becoming more egregious by the day.
