USDA cancels survey tracking how many Americans struggle to get enough food
The Department of Agriculture said it will end a longstanding annual food insecurity survey. Experts say the move will obscure the effects of recent changes that will lead to people losing food aid.

Federal immigration agents part of the Trump administration’s “Operation Midway Blitz” may soon leave Chicago, according to multiple sources who said the controversial mission was rapidly winding down after a contentious two months of enforcement raids that have set the city and suburbs on edge.
Federal Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino and agents said to be leaving Chicago, sources say
Cmdr. Gregory Bovino was expected to depart Chicago within days, while most Border Patrol agents under this command would soon be redeployed elsewhere, three sources told the Tribune Monday.

On this day in 1969, the greatest television show of all time, Sesame Street, premiered. Here’s a story that I wrote about the show (and public television) last year. Seems more relevant than ever: www.eriereader.com/article/how-...

Earth has not any thing to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky…
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by

ok, we are trying Fubo tv. will end up being more expensive than YouTube TV if we keep it, but I gotta watch my Monday Night Football
can’t watch Monday Night Football tonight because we have YouTube TV and they have stopped carrying ABC and ESPN because Disney is holding out for more money.
If I had any mental energy I’d cancel YouTube TV and sign up for something else.
sucks.

Me: Yeah, it's called illumination. Very fancy.

For all our Christmasing, the adults in my family are NOT exchanging presents this holiday season. Each kid will pick ONE main gift they want.
Our usual spending will go to those in need. We are NOT participating in Black Friday. We're reusing old holiday decor. *Not a dime extra for this admin.*

has this dude palpating a ginormous spiderweb in a cave never seen a single horror film?
A pitch-black cave in the Balkans is home to what appears to be the world’s largest spider web, which researchers say is a singular work of cooperation by two usually-hostile species of spider. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/08/s...
