We need an immediate law thru Congress (I know, I know… pressure them!) that immigrants can ONLY be deported to either:

1) The country of their nationality.

Or, 2) The last country they were in prior to entering the USA.

The less complicated this law, the better.

Freezing *ALL* science funding?

What a way to make a country great.

This seems a precursor to something bigger. Total elimination of the NSF and public funding of science? Like with international aid (USAID)?

🚨Speak up, we can't allow this to happen.

🚨 Over 70 graduate programs in the biological and biomedical sciences have frozen or slashed admissions.

The consequences are profound—how many brilliant minds are being shut out of research entirely? How much future discovery is being lost before it even begins?

Government abductions are unconstitutional.

Denying anyone the right to due process in America is unconstitutional.

If you’ve rationalized your silence or support for any of it because it’s happening to those you disagree with, give it a minute…

They’ll get to you soon enough.

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

Texas trying to pass a bill requiring proof of citizenship to cast a ballot is exactly what I would expect for a state that has stood in the way of my ability to vote by mail.

I voted in the 2016 presidental election in person in Texas. 2020 and 2024 by mail and they invalidated both those votes.
The Texas Legislature is considering a bill that would require all new and existing voters to provide documented proof of citizenship to cast a ballot. Voters who do not submit DPOC would be able to vote for the House and Senate, but not the president.
Texas Senate majority unveils bill requiring voters to prove their citizenship
All 20 GOP senators signed on to Senate Bill 16, which would apply to currently registered voters, and restrict some to only congressional elections.

I honestly don't know the answer to my question. In how many cases has the government maintained that DOGE is not an agency. Have they maintained in any case that it is? Have they refused to say in some cases? This particular bit of Hollander's opinion is crucial: they can't have it both ways.
Judge Hollander: Govt maintains DOGE is not an agency. If that's true, she goes on, then DOGErs cannot be detailed to agencies:

We are living in very dangerous, unusual times.

Today, the White House ignored a ruling by a Federal District Court because we have President who is an ignorant buffoon with no respect for the law or the Constitution.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!

If you let the executive deport people to a foreign gulag just by pronouncing the word “terrorism,” then expect to be called a “terrorist” soon yourself.

Imagine this: On the evening of March 8, you and your spouse unlock the door to your apartment building. As you step inside, two men—not in uniform—push their way in behind you. They tell you your visa has been revoked and that they are there to deport you.

NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more.

The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law.

No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
