Boo hoo. Drop the cases.
NEW: The top Trump-appointed proseutor in MN says his office is dropping "pressing priorities" to manage crushing immigration workload.

His short-staffed office is doing constant overtime and bouncing between contempt hearings.

The bleak assessment:

Perhaps that's because Trump didn't run on this. He ran on deporting "violent criminals." The implementation is a far cry from that.
Pew finds 60% oppose pausing visas and 66% oppose nixing asylum! People overinterpreted 2024 as a seismic shift to Trump on immigration. But the data is showing very broad opposition to the restrictionist, ethnonationalist, anti-humanitarian aspects of Trumpism. 5/5

Lots of people believe in things that aren't true, Carlos. It doesn't mean the rest of us should surrender reality
Rep. Carlos Gimenez on Trump's lies about the 2020 election: "You may say 100 times that it's 'false claims,' but there are a number of people in this country that don't believe that, okay? They believe that something happened."

Johnson needs to watch a few more Law & Order episodes
Little Johnson tries to Bible splain to the pope, also says the government shouldn't show proof to enter your home.

You presume they disagree with Trump. At this point we have to consider the possibility that they aren't afraid--they're in agreement.
The house is now 218 R to 214 D.

Each Republican member if they had balls would be more powerful than any Senator. But they have to have balls to say no to trump.

But they are ball-less or ball free

No amount of training will change the perspective of an agent who says, "Like Call of Duty--cool" after shooting someone.
When moderates focus on training, they give ICE officers the benefit of the doubt. The question should be: why are they doing that and what outcome do they hope for with better training? As of now, the murder and mayhem is amateurish. With better training, it will be professional.

Republican politicians who think that Minneapolis is a political problem are missing the point. It is a moral problem. But they are in so deep that they cannot see just how morally bankrupt they have become. They do not understand that we are as revulsed by their complicity as by Trump's cruelty.

This would be a war crime even if there were an actual war and these people were actual combatants, which there isn't and they weren't.

It's unquestionably an unlawful homicide under any form of law you wish to apply: military or civilian, domestic or international, federal or state. ...
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Straight up war crime
Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

For what it’s worth, as a commander and officer it was my duty, moral obligation, and legal requirement to first question and then to not obey any illegal order I was given.

The same is true for everyone who swear their oath.

Hope that clears things up.

Trumpism is cracking open right now.....
“You are our president. Please start acting like it. Show some class. Show some real leadership. Show that you actually care about the people other than yourself. I voted for you, but your behavior on this issue has been a national embarrassment.”

We stand with Rep. Jasmine Crockett in calling for an end to voting machines owned by Dominion. Our voting systems should never be controlled by anyone aligned with MAGA politics. It’s time to push for statewide bans on these machines.

So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.

We spent months working to rebuild the Democratic brand in the eyes of young voters who wanted leaders who'd fight for them.

Senate Democrats just lit all that work on fire.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Sounds like someone needs to read him the definition of “exemplary.”
Bovino was asked in his deposition if that was still true — that all use of force in Chicago had been "exemplary."

Bovino says "no."

Then he's asked if some force had been "less than proper?"

Bovino: "All uses of force have been MORE than exemplary."
