Politics, homemade stuff, dadhood, and generally commenting on a little bit of everything.
…did Carney just get Danielle Smith to smilingly agree to, effectively, the Notley NDP’s carbon strategy (sans c-tax) while putting the onus of getting buy-in from Indigenous leadership and BC on her, and requiring a private partnership on the actual (theoretical) pipeline build? Because if so, 👏

An Alberta Sovereignty banner has gone up in my neighbourhood. The house also has a Trump flag, and a half Alberta/half American flag.

So do they want sovereignty, or do they want to be annexed? I doubt they know. Just dumb enough to be dangerous.

For all the folks attending protests and collecting signatures in Alberta, it might be a good idea to brush up on these skills.
Tomorrow (Nov 25) is the UN's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the start of #16Days of Activism on Gender-Based Violence

We need a referendum to force the government to never introduce or pass laws based entirely on religious grounds.
This is a UCP MLA calling for a referendum on abortion inside of the legislature.

They’re coming for abortion.

Under his eye.

I know it’s a coincidence and has likely been booked for months prior to being released publicly, but Dave Chappelle announcing a show in Edmonton the morning after our government stripped rights away from the Trans community is a little too on-the-nose, don’t ya think?

At this rate, I expect Danielle Smith will also invoke the Notwithstanding Clause when a red light at the Legislature parkade stops her hasty exit later tonight, too.

Looking at some printable Letter To Santa templates, as one does in mid-November, and getting irrationally annoyed at every one that lists Santa’s address as North Pole, USA.

I am soooooo close to 50%! Can I make it there today? With friends like you, it'll be easy.

Every dollar you help me raise goes to help Bissell and they are an incredible organization.

Thank you

One day, in a hopefully not too distant future, we’ll all go to bed not having seen his face, read his name, or heard him spoken of or alluded to all day. It will be a beautiful, cleansing event even if we probably won’t realize it in the moment.

Nefarious, cowardly, swindling rat fuckers.
Today Elections Alberta requested $13.5 million to be able to administer recalls and referendum.

The UCP committee in charge revised their request to just over $1 million.

And then voted it through.

The UCP just defunded recall/referendum.

I didn't properly appreciate this about folks with chronic illnesses until I lived with one but they get absolutely unfairly painted as lazy or not dedicated. Let me tell you those motherfuckers be showing up for work on days when you & I wouldn't have even been conscious let alone gotten out of bed

I’m watching The Tragically Hip live at MuchMusic from 2000 and aside from the complete lack of crowd control around the building the part that makes me feel oldest is that the show just put up a fax number for people to send in questions.

Just watched an interview with Mike Elliott on Global. It’s the first time I’ve seen or heard anything from him aside from a flyer in my mailbox a month ago. He was on screen for about 4 minutes and didn’t mention the people of Edmonton once. The police and Provincial govt? Numerous times. Telling.

Those Future Voter stickers at advance polling stations are a nice touch. It would be a lot of work and completely impractical, but one day I’d love to see a kid’s voter card they can mark with an X and deposit in a ballot box too. Make it candy vs ice cream or something fun to engage anybody <18.

If you’d like to hear a front runner mayoral candidate complain about city administration and colleagues and play victim for an hour, listen to the latest special episode of the usually very entertaining Grose Misconduct podcast.

Please do not vote for Cartmell, folks. Vote for someone with vision.

We now go live to Danielle Smith addressing Albertans on the wait list for surgeries, those barely scraping by on AISH, Trans people just trying to access any medical care, Rural Albertans who need one of the many closed ERs, and every houseless person.

I'm pretty sure that in 2025, when someone passes away unexpectedly, there are a number of predatory, AI-driven, fake obituary websites that post unsanctioned info.

Just an FYI, because I think that's happening today.
