You know how these guys are really into the idea that any disease can be cured with a healthy diet of unprocessed foods?

Doesn’t work so well when the disease is E. coli from lettuce that isn’t reported publicly because FDA isn’t competent to keep food safe.

E. coli outbreak sickened more than 80 people, but details didn’t surface
Food safety inspections are being scaled back and the public was not notified after an investigation into E. coli contamination.

It pains me to say this, but if you are not a US citizen, you should not attend scientific conferences in the US, visit US institutions, or otherwise travel to our country.

Right now it's not worth the risk.

Hopefully that will change. If it doesn't, science in the US is sunk anyway.

I’ll miss Charlie Rangel, a beloved icon and public servant of New York.

He was a proud veteran who loved serving his Harlem constituents. He urged me to run for the Senate and later was an invaluable colleague.

Rest in peace and power, my friend.

It would appear the police were stating facts at the presser.

You can’t fight fascism with lynching.

It only sets fire to the Reichstag.

The Federal government is defaulting on its legally obligated debts. And anyone wonders why the US credit rating is going down?
Northwestern has not received any NIH funds since March. No written communication about why or what can be done. Thank you Ben Singer for raising awareness at #ATS2025

happy bday Persian poet/polymath Omar Khayyam, b.1048.

Then I hear a solemn voice that says:

Weather and climate research funds are being “chainsawed” from NOAA's budget. Last I checked, Louisiana & Florida, which are maximally susceptible to Hurricanes, voted Red in the last General Election.

Wondering if residents there knew in advance this would happen.
