False again -

"There are such things in the world as human rights. They rest upon no conventional foundation, but are eternal, universal and indestructible. Among these is the right of locomotion; the right of migration"

migration is not a privilege, it is a right older than the state

I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

Sen. Coons is a no, but this is the kind of enabling cover I'm talking about. If other senators were willing to go on TV and call them out, the cavers would be likely to back off. The level of deference and privilege they extend to one another is actually corrosive.
I understand why some of my Democratic colleagues will support this bill. President Trump and Republicans seem determined to inflict harm on vulnerable Americans not just by making health care less affordable, but also by shutting down SNAP and firing federal employees.

40 men Trump sent to CECOT tell the NYT they were beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted. The details are worse than you can imagine.

We can’t let them get away with this. Miller and the other architects of this sadism need to go to prison.

That clip of Bannon circulating rn where he admits he's going to prison if Dems ever regain power should actually be DEEPLY ALARMING bc it outlines stakes & desperation that will likely *escalate* regime lawlessness & violence. Taking action now could help prevent that.
Steve Bannon: If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.

there's definitely an essay in this, about how this entire generation of right wingers have spent their entire career smashing the drywall and kicking the legs out from under polite society, seemingly so sheltered that they honestly never considered that it might end up affecting them too
There's so many of these btw, NoVa right wingers realizing that their neighbors genuinely hate them

Suicidal for centrists to be begging for moderation when now would be a great time to pass some big, ambitious policies and remind people why Democrats are better than Republicans.

Houston, Texas ICE GOONS hospitalized a 16-year-old U.S. citizen on his way to school. The teen, a star football and soccer player, was violently detained alongside his father. Despite his cries for help, “I’m underage!” the agents tackled him, resulting in severe neck and back injuries.

I know it’s too much to expect them to know their history, but if the American Revolution had a motto, it definitely would not have been “immigrants go home.”

It would have been “get your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”
America... boy, I dunno.

yep and points 3 and 4 are explicitly about throwing a whole bunch of my friends, colleagues, neighbors, and loved ones under the bus, so fuck this.
i'm fine with a deeper focus on economic issues over social issues but man does plank 2 give the game away

If you see Nazi symbols as a bit of edgy fun, and think that’s what this moment needs, say so.

If you want politicians who act like they shouldn’t be questioned, say so.

Instead, it’s defenses of a mythical white male socialist hero, who by aesthetics breaks through the volk’s false consciousness.

This is all downstream of the US government steadily atrophying its ability to punish executives and board members who betray their investors.

It taught these guys how to screw their investors with raw power politics, and now they're applying that attitude to our entire system of government.
the american financial elite, all at once, had abandoned capitalism in an attempt to purchase the power of the state.
