Fascinating about the fireworks. Seemed to skirt on this important part though, that they had plenty of warning and for whatever reason just couldn’t restructure to be eligible for more funding:

New Perspective - Canada’s landscape fires spreading into uncharted territory
Canada clearly needs to do more. More to prevent & mitigate wildfires, more to increase our initial response capacity and capability to protect communities & critical infrastructure.

Fascinating.
For the past year, I've been doing an embedded "ethnographic" study of Calgary's election. As a consequence, I've mostly kept quiet about it. It'll still be months before I have qualitative results to share, but in the meantime, here are some results from our pre-election survey. #yyccc #yycvote

Hey @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social - your new Green rep seems to be making the opposite case on LNG than they think they are. Prices went negative in Alberta for pipeline gas. Prices are fine for LNG. The gap between the two is how LNG facilities make money. fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=1MP1S

Canadian fire season for 2023 & 2024(May-Aug) and 2025 (May-Jul) = 338 days with 218 days (65%) at National Preparedness Level (NPL) 5. NPL5 means firefighters and equipment in every jurisdiction in Canada is put to use, and international help has been requested. Is this sustainable?

1000% this.

I am increasingly exasperated and frustrated that so many people do not seem to realize what this is.

Trump is not a rational actor looking for a fair deal. He's a thug who believes every activity is zero sum and every compromise is weakness. Plan accordingly.
Again, let me emphasize, the threatened tariff on Canada is not meant to instigate a 'trade war'. This is not 'oh I don't like your stumpage fees so I'll tariff your softwood and then we tariff their orange joice'.

The threatened tariff is just plain aggression, using tariffs as the tactic.

In Canada, a pint is equal to 20 fl oz (568 mL).

The allowable limit of error for a pint is 0.5 fl oz (15 mL).

The foam (head) is not included in the measurement.

The term "pint" shouldn't be used to describe a glass or mug of beer.
