My brother & I split the care for our late mother in a manner we could manage with our other responsibilities. My brother trusted & validated my medical care decisions for our mother. I trusted his financial decisions for our mother. My late mother would boast that her children cared for her well. 🙏🏾

Please. The civilian union is debating both City of Edmonton & Edmonton Police Service on accountability to address egregious cases of sexual assault, harassment & workplace violence for civilian employees of EPS, rather than dealing with the reality that colleagues are assaulting one another. 🚨

There's always criticism levied at newspapers for meek headlines, passive voice, and both-sidesism. It's often valid.

But the fact is: if you pick up an physical newspaper and actually read the thing, especially right now, you're going to come away with a pretty stark look at the state of America.

Taking a pause to remember my late mother who died about this time, shift change, on this day 6 years ago. As a nurse she told me people should try not to die at shift change. That she did, is one of the perfect moments of her death that still I cherish & laugh at. Obituary is long & she earned it.
