Hello Bluesky. I'm a writer and strategist working in the HR tech space. I've had the unfortunate experience of burying two of our children, so I tend to write a bit about loss, grief, and trauma. I'll share some links below for anyone interested.

Big one here, gang.

This list is the culmination of many things—8 years of reporting on local film, diving into Oregon film history during the pandemic, getting obsessed with Kelly Reichardt (though anyone can and should do that.)

Thanks for the space, WW.
From animated neoclassics to enamel-grinding thrillers, these are the 25 best Oregon-made movies of the past 25 years.

It's again worth noting that Trump could have been legitimately impeached on the plain letter of existing U.S. law on Jan 21st, 2016, for not divesting from his company.

Are you tired of films that take Christianity seriously? Movies like The Witch, Silence, Hail, Caesar!, or First Reformed? Well, have I got a picture for you!
Should i do a live-thread of me working my way through God's Not Dead 5?
correct! i joke on and off that evangelical movies are basically similar to the didactic era of socialist realism films in 20th century movies

FWIW, I've reached out to the Alliance Defending Freedom and the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty — groups that have long touted their support for religious freedom — about things such as the treatment of clergy, alleged inability of ICE detainees to access religious rites, etc.

No response yet.
The Christian right for decades has fear-mongered that federal agents (under Dem presidents) would "criminalize" Christianity and literally prevent them from worshipping.

Now that Trump's stormtroopers are doing it ... crickets
Here’s a story for every national news outlet:

In N.C., churchgoers are literally running into the woods as federal agents descend on the property.

“Inside the church, women and children sobbed as they wondered whether their loved ones had been taken.”

I want “kavanaugh stops” to be as much of our legal lexicon as “Miranda warning”. I want his horrific opinion to stick to him like skin.
Devastating piece on the human toll of Kavanaugh Stops.

Especially infuriating to know that rich white guys like Brett K can simply close their eyes to the human suffering their racist jurisprudence has unleashed.
For two months, the U.S. government has been racial profiling as masked federal agents hunted for immigrants throughout Chicago. They’ve repeatedly snatched up U.S. citizens while traumatizing communities. “I felt like a piece of trash.” Here is our story www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/15/l...

I made the mistake of signing up for Tidal on the app, meaning the subscription is through Google and I'm therefore paying more per month. Not a great first impression, Tidal.

I loved Fenyx Rising... interesting that "Polygon was a bit lukewarm on Immortals when it launched, saying it 'can’t help from becoming a game that shoves you down a path'"... because that's what I liked. When BoTW overwhelmed - Fenyx had a right-amount of guardrails for me.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.
