I watched the trailer for this movie specifically to learn wtf is going on with that name and was left not only completely in the dark but annoyed that I had watched the trailer. 100% oscarbait
Look, I'm going to see Hamnet, but I can't get over how silly "Hamnet" is. It's hard not to feel ridiculous saying it. Like you're a kindergartner proud of some new bit of information but you bungle the announcement. "But that was a real name!" I don't care. Not my fault.

nothing better to show you are ready to take over the seat of the most powerful house speaker of all time than calling for the resignation of the leader of the other side of congress than the one you are running for
UPDATE — With Rep. Pramila Jayapal (Chair Emerita of the Congressional Progressive Caucus), there are now at least 12 congressional Democrats, 15 Democratic-aligned organizations, and 8 Democratic candidates calling for Chuck Schumer to resign as leader:

not sure who needs to hear this, but for the record, England is a very nice place to visit
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
Record Numbers of Younger Women Want to Leave the U.S.
The percentage of younger women in the U.S. who express a desire to migrate permanently has surged in the past decade.

here's a concrete next step that you can ask your senators to do to replace Schumer
We need 24 Senators to replace @schumer.senate.gov as Senate Minority Leader.

To get there, we need 10 Senate Dems to request a special meeting with the conference chair w/ an agenda to remove Schumer and who would replace him. Schumer would b required to hold the meeting within 3. Then they vote.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

a script from @indivisible.org! (I'm probably going to add how harmful this will be in Ossoff's reelection campaign, bc we'll be blaming the entire party when people's healthcare premiums are so high they can't afford insurance)
CALL NOW: Tell Your Democratic Senator It's Time for Chuck Schumer to Step Aside

Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

🚨 We’re hearing that Senate Democrats are on the verge of caving to Trump in another “Schumer Surrender.”

That means your Democratic senators need to hear from you right now.

curious to 'learn' today that leftists in san francisco hate mamdani because he likes housing and so he is more like scott weiner than dean preston which seems hard to believe at the very least

still just so blown away by this story!
so apparently the new mayor of sf, who has no political experience, gave the open supervisor seat to a 29 year old music teacher / entrepreneur with no political experience because she walked up to him at a night market and asked for the job, which is truly wild and rather unsettling!

what an exciting next chapter for the cliff house, which will be in the hands of a neighborhood nonprofit group! never expected such a happy ending to this story so this is amazing to see: www.sfgate.com/local/articl...

in high school after the ap bio test we watched the 1980s bbc movie race for the double helix, in which jeff goldblum plays james watson in such an iconic performance we all became obsessed with jeff goldblum. apparently watson was a pretty terrible dude but his biopic was amazing
