"Forgive, don't demand accountability" is a perfect way to maintain the existing power structures and ensure that nothing changes.
This is unfortunately a common response to even very serious issues such as sexual abuse. Never expose them, never press charges, never demand accountability even from positions of leadership. It's horrifying.

Piggy has signed off on the release of the Epstein files.

There is a loophole in the law that lets the DOJ withhold anything they deem is part of an active investigation.

It’s precisely what Piggy is counting on.

Expecting people to speak up in the moment of abuse when there is such a power differential is wildly unrealistic. Like expecting a child to speak up while they are being sexually battered. Employment is bare survival for too many people.

Why did quiet piggy get under our collective skin?

It was despicable. A bald reveal of his absolute disdain for others, most especially women. Beyond the insult, it was a silencing of all of us who want the truth. A silencing we will not abide.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

There is only one reason Trump directed Bondi to investigate specific names in the Epstein files.

It’s so the DOJ can stonewall growing calls for their full release.

Not long ago, the DOJ declared there was nothing to investigate.

You are witness to the most blatant coverup in American history.

Trump and Republicans just passed a tax cut that will gift $100B annually to the richest 1%.

$100B could fund SNAP for a year.

It's not a matter of what this country can or can't afford. It's about priorities.

People are starting to understand this.
Brooke Rollins: "I guess the silver lining in all of this is that we're having a national conversation on our SNAP program. This has shined a light on a program that especially under the last administration has just become so bloated."
