The biggest problem with the ALP right now is it is led by someone who irrationally hates the Greens.

He doesn't really like to "fight Tories"; he loves to fight the party that reveals his actual lack of "left-wing" positions.

Someone needs to tell him to get over his uni politics crap.

When I was growing up autistic kids were "hyper" or "had water on the brain" and there was always a raft of "weird kids" who were socially ostracized because they had a hard time people-ing. If you don't think autism existed before it was commonly called "autism," it's because you chose not to see.
My dad truly believed that people just didn't have autism when he was growing up and I had to be the one to break it to him that autistic people who didn't fit in WERE PUT INTO INSTITUTIONS

I disagree that an Autism registry would be created to fix autism. I think the Trump and RFK, Jr. administrations want to register autistic people so they can kidnap them off the street and put them in concentration camps, like Jews in Germany.

He doesn’t remember hearing about them, so they must not have existed.

Okay boomer.

Btw, Tourette’s was first identified in 1885, Narcolepsy in 1880, ADHD as far back as 1798 (although more clearly in 1902), and Autism Spectrum Disorder in 1911. So, yeah, they did exist when he was a kid.
RFK JR: ADD, ADHD, Tourette syndrome, Narcolepsy, Autism.. All of these are injuries that I never heard of when I was a kid.

Kennedy press conference: "better awareness… cannot be driving a disability like autism to increase by 300% in 20 years"

The Affordable Care Act took effect in 2014, (21 years), giving health insurance to Americans, to afford to get their kids tested for autism. www.npr.org/sections/sho...
RFK seeks the 'environmental' cause of autism. Scientists say it's not that simple
Researchers and advocates have pushed back at what they consider inaccurate and stigmatizing comments made by the health secretary, and note the causes of autism are complex.

New York is saying no.
We need more of that.

DEI isn’t Black. If you are not white AND male, or if you have a disability, they want to make it harder for you. Don’t get me started about age or national origin.

Female? Fuck off.
Male and disabled? Fuck off
Etc.
Have you read the NYSED response to the Trump admin’s “certify you don’t do DEI or else” letter? It is embedded in the article below.

You should! It is gratifying and an example of simple, legal, potent resistance from a gov entity.

Little 🧵
Trump gave states 10 days to sign anti-DEI policy. NY Education Department is refusing.
In a Friday letter to the U.S. Education Department, New York officials said they will not certify that the state is eliminating DEI in schools, despite threats to pull federal funding.

"You can't let your disability win! Adapt and push though!" Is ableist as fuck. I'm not forcing damage because you are terrified of the reality that you could end up disabled by no fault of your own. It might take me DAYS to recover. But sure. Maintaining your denial is more important. 🙄
When you're chronically ill, your body runs the show. You can't outrun the realities of disability. If you don't listen to your body, it will force the issue.

If you need to rest, rest. If you need to say 'No', say no. If you need to cancel something, cancel. If you need accommodation, ask.
