I also want to reiterate that it took every single Democratic Senator to agree to this deal. A single Democratic Senator could have denied unanimous consent, pushed this into Monday, allowed more time for the discontent to fester. Every Senate Democrat is complicit.

People assume Andrew Cuomo is tough and A Fighter because he always looks angry and acts weird. Mistaking a total lack of emotional self-regulation and wild, self-destructive spite for Masculine Strength is one of the defining political errors to me. No one even tries to keep it together anymore.

This is a remarkable moment. Trump and Vance sit there in silence, as a bishop pleas with them to lean on their better angels and not follow through with their depraved campaign promises that target the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants.

Never seen anything like this.
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

Trump has repealed a Biden executive order mandating ethical behavior from administration employees.

The order told federal workers to:
-Not accept gifts from lobbyists
-Not take other bribes
-Not lobby for two years after government work
-And more

Now those rules are gone.

it's just so incredibly dangerous that 95% of journalism right now is either legacy newspapers that have already indicated they plan to collaborate with Trump, or freelance journalists who are subsidizing white nationalists and anti-trans advocacy by publishing on substack.

The TikTok ban, the Musk Twitter takeover, the Facebook moderation policy changes, the Republicans’ rapidly intensifying crackdowns on speech... let these be the proof you needed to move anything you care about online to a space you control.

Digital sovereignty is more important than ever.

don't lose sight of this: you're the target AND the commodity, and the upside for you is marginal (at best) while others rake in the cash. decommoditization may be my theme for 2025, how sexy is that.
