Wind Waker style stencil buffer torches are done! I'm gonna share this on GitHub soon. This should also do shadows and layered/nested spheres as well. Not sure whether it's worth making a full video explaining it yet... #gamedev #godotengine #vfx

Background + sprite animation (the ship is now pre-rendered) and... tunnels ! I think I can add more gameplay elements and stay at 30fps, there is hope, the megadrive is a beast :o

I'm infamous for being the 0xFF00FF 0x00FF00 guy on teams.
In gamedev, if you're using a placeholder asset, best practices involve marking it as placeholder so garishly and offensively clearly PLACEHOLDER that you can't possibly miss it. Also flagging that asset in the dev process so it can be identified quickly before the final build.

A silver-tipped pen that glows in the dark. Anything written with it on paper exposed to moonlight disappears after a few seconds, only becoming visible again under the same phase of the moon each month. #magicitemshop #ttrpg #dnd

I found RPG players want to hoard consumables, but it helps if you:
* Make them easy to identify, older editions let you sip potions
* Make them STRONG, "this potion makes you grow 50 feet tall"
* Magic item merchants don't want gold, instead players can trade away items they won't use

Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.
