Hey.

Two-thirds of people DON'T KNOW what's in Trump's budget bill, even though it will affect all of us. Polls show when people know what's in it, they don't want Trump's Big Ugly Bill.

So let's make sure more people know what's in it 🧵

In case you haven’t noticed, the election of even a single person who is considered leftist is so terrifying to capitalists that every weapon imaginable is on the table.

This is why, post-WWII, America worked with Nazis, supported dictators, engaged in international terrorism and assassinations.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM

My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social.

The governing ideology of the far right has become a
monstrous, supremacist survivalism.

Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

🚨House Republicans just passed a bill that would disenfranchise 70 million married American women.

Under the SAVE Act, women who took their spouse’s last name and don't have an updated passport or birth certificate would be turned away at the polls.

Take a moment today to read about a few of the young children whom Trump and Musk killed by shutting down USAID. The blame for these deaths falls on them.

There will be hundreds of thousands more dead kids before their lethal crusade against foreign aid ends. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

The Iowa legislature just became the first in modern history to repeal a statutory civil rights law by removing protections for gender identity first passed in 2007. They have legalized discrimination against trans people in housing, healthcare, and employment.

This is a campaign of eradication.

Here's the thing:

Politics at the federal level has been a scam for 25 years. It's just culture war messaging from both parties, in service not of making anyone's lives better, but so that they can keep the spigot of small-dollar donations wide open.
The sign says it all.

Democrats are standing up for the middle class by fighting the Trump administration’s disastrous policies.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.
