A terrifying, throwaway line in this article is that an RFK Jr. ally says that he "would soon pull Covid-19 vaccines off the market."

In the past 48 hours, I've seen so many small artists I love announce that they are suspending US sales. "Disaster" is exactly the right word.
To put it bluntly, this is a fucking disaster. For consumers, for small businesses and artists, for everybody. The US is cutting ourselves off from the rest of the world and for what?? Even if this gets sorted out or walked back, it’s going to cause a major disruption.
Multiple postal services around Europe say they are suspending the shipment of many packages to the United States amid a lack of clarity over new import duties.

Again - I really have to wonder how much Sony is regretting that decision now…

Monster will be coming to Blu-ray next year!

It's been a long wait for many of you who wanted this.

The entire series in HD, subbed & dubbed.

There are WAY too many folks in the online theater communities celebrating Jesse Green’s reassignment and not looking past the headlines - the few “uh no guys this is bad!” posts are falling on death ears. Would love to be wrong, but I bet whatever results from these decisions will not be good.

Fun fact - a doctor I know said they saw plenty of pregnant women with covid. The ones who ended up on a ventilator were always unvaccinated.
Breaking news: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is ending his agency's recommendation that healthy pregnant women and healthy children receive the coronavirus vaccine.
RFK Jr. ends covid shot recommendation for healthy children, pregnant women
Currently the vaccine is recommended for all people over 6 months of age.

I feel seen! Why is it whenever I sit down to write my brain decides to go, "what are words?" 😆
Me all week: *remembers a word that exactly describes a thing when thinking of something to write*

Me sitting down to write: oh god what is that word again?

Amber Heard speaks out on Blake Lively: “Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on.’ I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive.”

Struggling to find the words for just how disturbing this is.

But suffice it to say that at one point, even Baldoni’s own publicist essentially says “thank goodness people hate women.” nyti.ms/3DoqZSq

If you still don't understand the importance of physical media after the Great HBO Max Purge of 2022, I don't know what to tell you. Time to grab "Hundreds of Beavers" on blu-ray. Physical media FOREVER!

THINK: of your favorite film. The one that defines your essence, your very soul.

Now think again: where’s your personal copy?

I don’t know writer/journalist Annabel Ross personally, but what she had to say about the Gaiman situation covers a fair bit of what I think so far… now I’ll go back to trying to find an emoji that conveys “goddammit I’m so fucking furious & sad & exhausted”

And it looks like the only physical copy of "Daughter of Shanghai" I can find is on Amazon and the reviews say the picture quality is less-than-ideal. And this is a film that is in the National Film Registry! Sigh...
I knew finding these films on streaming would be a challenge, but even physical media is a struggle. There are 0 copies of "Daughter of the Dragon" or "Daughter of Shanghai" available via interlibrary loan. Only 1 copy of "Shanghai Express." At least I was able to watch "Piccadilly" on Kanopy!
I just finished reading a book about Anna May Wong. Naturally I wanted to watch as many of her films as possible...and got a first-hand look at how hard it can be to watch any films made before 1970 these days.
