This took off a bit more than I thought it would, but I'm glad I'm not the only hardware accuracy preservation freak out there. There are dozens of us! Dozens!
God I hate remaster/remake culture. Losing my mind at how many reviews/comments I've seen that complain about the vertex jitter in the new version of R-Type Delta.

"Wobbly polygons" are part of the charm, aesthetic, and visual identity of PS1 games.

Old games are *supposed to look old*.

And I don't want N64 games to have the PS1's issues because then they wouldn't feel like N64 games.
That's the core part of it: Preserving the identity and history of these old games.
It really is that deep if you care about respecting the platforms and technical limitations they were designed with.
I just don't like the wobble and texture warping of ps1 games its not that deep

Its not wrong for people to want the option to turn that off. Yeah its an old game. There were old games back then that didn't have this (n64 titles, for example)

it is genuinely astonishing to me how often this happens to specifically ps1 games. the console paradoxically considered to have one of the strongest game libraries of all times but also the one most likely to make people pitch a fit if you just bring one back without changes

RIP Udo Kier.
I mostly knew him from his role in Riget (which I'm fairly certain traumatized me as a wee larva), but I also knew him from the very early era of the Internet where his personal website would greet you with this delightful video:

Sometime between the releases of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, a company called Songbird Ocarinas began advertising in every single issue of Nintendo Power up until the magazine ended in 2012.

Curious if they were still around, I decided to try their website and...

Evolution is such a great little dungeon crawler series and I really hope Sting eventually rereleases them in some sort of definitive collection.
They feel underrated even for Sting RPGs, though I can't say I blame people for disliking how much of a tedious grind they can be. I love 'em though.

Why didn't anyone tell me GunBuster was so much fun? Watched it over the weekend and it felt like I was twelve years old again watching Evangelion what with all the over-the-top melodrama, screaming, and funky space monsters (yes I know it's the same director).

My one Silksong hot take is that I genuinely don't think it's all that difficult or challenging when compared to the first game. It's challenging for sure, but it's not *that* bad.
